What a great movie! So how old was Curtis Erhart then? Maybe 14 or so?
Ah, memories—the Mecca Bar, North Star Bakery, other scenic sights of late-70s Fairbanks. I think I first saw “Spirit of the Wind” (when it was still titled that) before I ever got into sled dogs, and I loved it so much then that I saw it a couple more times. Never dreamed back then that I’d ever stand on the back of a sled myself. Thank you for the chance to see it again after something like 30 years.
And how about Wee Willy Wally – boy that sure takes me back to memories of Fairbanks before the pipeline~~~~Thanks for setting this up for us Jennifer.
Thanks to Jennifer for organizing this. Spirit of the Wind is a great movie to see with a bunch of other mushers. I think a fun time was had by all!
Curtis was 15 or 16, when this filmed. It was an awesome night. Thank you Jennifer
