The Alaska Dog Mushers Association is excited to announce that the 2010 Annamaet Gold Run Championship Sled Dog Race will be held at the Chena Lakes Recreation Area on Saturday February 20 – 21 starting at 11am. This is the first ADMA race of the season!

Annamaet Gold Run to be held at Chena Lakes Rec Area.

The Gold Run will be held at Chena Lakes Recreation Area near North Pole, AK on Feb. 20-21. A map of the trail system can be found at this website: http://www.co.fairbanks.ak.us/ParksandRecreation/Forms/CLRA/CLRAWinterGuide-print.pdf
Distances will be as follows:
Skijor – 5.1 miles
4 Dog – 5.1 miles
6 Dog – 6.5 miles
10 Dog – 12 miles

Minimum purses set for championship races.

The following purses are the minimum guaranteed for each race. The fund raising committee is working hard to raise even more prize money.
Annamaet Gold Run – $4,200 sponsored by Annamaet Pet Foods and Goldstream Sports.
North Pole Championships – $5,160 sponsored by North Pole Economic Development Committee, F&E Taxidermy, Santa Claus House, Alcan Builders, Alaska Tent [...]
