Article VIII Meetings
Original text
#3 The Corporation shall hold its annual meeting at the Limited North American drawing for the purpose of electing officers, approving the upcoming race schedule, and conducting other business. At least ten (10) days’ advance written notice of the time and place of the annual meeting shall be given to all voting members. Once the race schedule has been voted on, no modifications to approved mileages or classes may be made; however, events or classes may be added by majority vote at any membership meeting.

In the case of multiple postponed Challenge Series races, subsequent Challenge Series class mileages may be adjusted by majority at any membership meeting.
Article IX Membership

#1 General Membership: The duration of this membership shall be for one race season (1 May to 30 April). Upon payment of annual dues, a person shall become a member of the Alaska Dog Mushers Association and after attending three meetings shall be eligible to vote on all matters. This does not apply to continuing members from the previous year.

#7 Certificates of general membership for the coming year will be issued by the President or Treasurer of the Corporation to active member at any meeting when application is made in conformance with the Articles of Incorporation. Honorary membership certificates shall be issued by the Secretary or his/her designee.

#12 A driver who loses his/her team must overtake the loose team by the quickest possible means, including a ride if available, to ensure the safety of the loose team. Failure to accept assistance may result in disqualification of the driver of the loose team.

C. Starting

The 6-dog class will start at 11:45 a.m. if more than fifteen 4-dog teams enter. There will be an interval of 15 minutes between the start times of all other classes.

G. Awards

1. In each class, open, 8-dog, 6-dog, 4-dog and skijoring (1-,2-, and 3-dog), there will be a points system whereby a championship is awarded to the driver with the most points at the end of the race season, based on finishes in the preliminary races:
1st place: 5 points
2nd place: 4 points
3rd place: 3 points
4th place: 2 points
5th place & lower: 1 point
Sportsman’s class mushers are not eligible to receive points.

In the case of a tie in accumulated points, the points champion will be determined by a tie-breaking procedure.
