Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this race possible. People who helped include Chris DuBois, Tom McGrane, George and Cindy Salmon, David and Sara Elzey, Steven and Carolyn Sheehy, Iris Wood, Jim Herriges, Jess Ryan, Chuck and Tone Deehr, John Estabrook and Heather, Dan and Page Roberts, Melanie Brown, Cheryle Barrett, Michelle Coombs, and Jessica Larson. Please contact me if you helped and did not get credit where credit is due because the race would not have gone off without a hitch without help from each and everyone one of you.
A special thanks is due to Russell and Tom for the beautiful grooming work done on the race course.
Also, be sure to stop by Apocalypse Design and All Weather Sports and thank the folks there for providing many of the prizes distributed today. Cheryle Barrett provided home-made head bands and a neck warmer, and provided the doggie treat prizes.
Thirty people and more than fifty dogs toured the Birch Hill trails in unseasonably warm weather that made dogs pant hard and skiers sweat hard. The club also successfully conducted a World Championship format relay without a hitch. Thank you all for coming out and competing and having fun. You made all the planning worth it!!!
Congratulations to Kriya Dunlap, Bjorn Flora, Iris Wood, Paula Schlentner, Rich Roehner and Julie Rowland for qualifying for the IFSS World Championships!!! Additional slots will be awarded based on today's results if it does not snow enough in Anchorage to hold a race there on January 13.
