Carol Kleckner sped through the 4.5 mile course with Robin, Blackberry, and Casper claiming first place in 15:57.  Don Kiely (Raisin, Chert, Daikon) came in second, posting a time of 17:18.  Andy Warwick took advantage of the somewhat icy trails, finishing the 4.5 mile, 2-dog course in 16:12 with Zip and Licorice, while Janet Smith with Skeeter and Buckwheat claimed second place in 18:07. Chad Carroll and Tico led the one-dog competitors, finishing in 18:38.

3.7 miles was the most popular distance in Saturday's competition.  Amanda Byrd (Avril, Miley, Taz) posted the fastest time in the 2/3 dog class, winning the event in 13:49.  Sara Elzey came in second with the fastest time of the two-dog participants.  Shadow and Ayla ran hard, bringing Sara across the line in 14:22.  Iris Wood (Sarge, Silver) crossed less than a minute later, earning a third place finish in 15:10.  Ted Wu and Ty won the one-dog class in 14:55, with a 3 minute lead over the closest competition.  David French and Boone placed second with a time of 17:57, and Inge Sumanik with Hobbes came in third in 19:11.

Sara Elzey and Myst finished their 1 mile, 1 dog race in just under 4 minutes.  Claiming first place in her second event with a time of 3:55.  Ted Wu was just behind Sara, placing second in what was also his second event of the day. Ted crossed the finish line with Lucey in 4:13.  Marya Lewanski and Nellie rounded out the top three in the one mile, one-dog class finishing in 4:28.

It was another great season for ASPA, thank you to all of the volunteers that helped to make all of our events possible.  Saturday's race benefited from the experienced help of Toni Hawkins, Jamie Marschner and Pat DeRuyter.  Thank you and have a great spring and summer!
