Thirteen skijorers participated in the 4th Annual Skijor Orienteering Event at Creamer's Field following the finish of the Open North American Sled Dog Race on Sunday. Participants chose either 30 or 60 minutes to gather as many of the 20 controls as they could find. Controls were valued at 10 to 100 points each for a total of 1000 points for all 20 controls. Arriving back to the finish area late resulted in a 10 point penalty for each minute late.

Jim Herriges and Ole compiled 430 points to win the 30 minute class. Sara Elzey and Ayla came in second with 380 points. Amy Carroll and Penny compiled 370 points but were assessed a 60 point penalty for returning late for a total of 310 points. David French and Boone had a difficult time after losing the map somewhere after the second control.

Mike Malvick with Corky, Ingrid and Mesa won the 60 minute class with an impressive 930 points. Mike had a scary moment when he headed for the control at the College Road crossing of the Open North American Trail and realized his dogs might try to follow the trail across the road. They stopped and he got all but one control in under 60 minutes.

Chad Carroll and Tico came in second at 870 points. Ted Wu with Lucey and Ty also scored 870 points but with a 20 point penalty finished third at 850 total points. Ted was looking at his map while traveling on the ADMA maintained trails and looked up just in time to avoid running head-on into an 8-dog mushing team.
