2009 Lees' Cabin Race Results

Blustery weather didn’t faze participants in this annual event. Although our competitive division was (ehem) a bit small, a large number of skijorers, some snowmachiners, and one bikejorer enjoyed the trail and cabin.
Peggy Raybeck and Edel Agesborg traveled out the evening before with Peggy’s snowmachine and Edel’s two hounds to spend the night and warm up the cabin. We were all very appreciative of their efforts.
Mike Ruckhaus was our sole racer in the "time your own race" division. In the midst of all the other activity getting his actual time was overlooked by the race coordinator; needless to say he was the winner of the event.
All participants ate soup and cookies at the cabin and invited a ridiculous number of dogs into the cabin. The return ski was much nicer with the sun out and the wind largely at our backs.
Prizes were awarded as follows:
Don Atwood: Largest dog
Gail Davidson: Fastest labs
Bruce and Janna Miller: Fastest dogs with no tails
Brandon Mc-Grath Bernhard: Fastest bikejorer
Lisa Stuby: Red Lantern
Mike Ruckhouse: First Place Racer (as well as Last, and Only)
Thea Ruckhaus and friend: Best woodgatherers and snowmachine drivers
Edel Agesborg: First skijorer to the cabin (Friday!)
